When low tide hits the Turnagain Arm the ocean begins to quickly drain from it. Little twisty rivers are created, leaving this amazing pattern in the silt. High tide returns and it all disappears.
It may be hard to tell with the clouds covering the city but, that is Anchorage. It sits between the the ocean and a huge mountain range.
